Conventional UV Flame Detector

AW-D146C/AW-D146R conventional UV flame detector is an Ultraviolet-only flame built to detect fires and send alarm signals directly from the detector with the aim of protecting the detector from false alarms without sacrificing any false alarm immunity. Ultraviolet (UV) detectors detect the UV radiation emitted at the moment of ignition. While capable of detecting fires and explosions within 3-4 milliseconds, a time delay of 2-3 seconds is often included to minimize false alarms which can be triggered by other UV sources such as lightning and sunlight. The Sun rays & artificial rays have no effect on the Ultraviolet (UV) detector but an electric arc has an effect, so where there is electric welding going on, it cannot be installed.

Installation
Warning: Before installation, please disconnect power from the loop and verify that all the bases
are securely installed and the wiring is correct at each base.
Power up after all the detectors are installed.
Ensure that the enclosure and labels are checked before installation to avoid any nicks or distortion on the enclosure and labels.
How do you test a UV flame scanner?
Flame detector point in test range and the centerline of detector cone of view. Press the switch and wait until the Flame detector is activated. For IR or UV/IR detectors the switch should be intermittently operated in a 1 second pulse (0.5 sec on, 0.5 sec off).
Maintenance
To prevent dust, dampness, and corrosion, it's important to inject the defector just before commissioning and keep it well before installation. Clean the detector and do fire alarm tests regularly. Repair the fault in time.
Cautions
Whenever the detector is moved, it should be handled with care to avoid collision, squeezing, and friction.
The detector is not suitable for the following places.
▪ Where flameless fires are expected.
▪ Wherethick smoke spreads before flames.
▪ Places where the "view of the detector is easy to be obscured
▪ Whee the sun can directly or indirectly since the detector
▪ Where there are strong ultraviolet light sources, such as halogen and tungsten.
▪ Where there is open flame, welding operation, X-rays and ar and spark etc.
