Many customers don’t understand what a fire alarm control panel loop card is. Actually, it’s very simple. The loop card is a platform that provides circuit wiring for the fire alarm devices. Usually, the loop cards are required for a fire alarm control panel connected with a large number of components.
For example, there is a fire alarm control panel, and each loop of it supports 127 components. If the fire control alarm system needs to connect 800 components, then 800/127=6.3, by calculating and retaining the integer, we know that the fire alarm control panel needs 7 loops, and since each loop will need a loop card hardware, we will be needing 7 loop cards.
Different loop cards of the fire alarm control panels can’t be used in place of one another. Some fire alarm control panel loop cards are divided into single-loop cards and dual-loop cards. A dual-loop card is a combination of two single-loop cards, that is, a dual-loop card is equal to two single-loop cards. For example, if you have a fire alarm control system with 7 loops, then you can use 3 dual-loop cards and 1 single-loop card.
The fire alarm control panel loop card is not necessary for every fire alarm control panel. If it is a fire alarm control panel with a small number of connecting components, then the loop card is not needed.
