The coverage of the smoke detector is determined by the height of the building: When the building is 6m to 12m high, the protection area of the smoke detector is 80m². When the building’s height is less than 6m, the protection area of the smoke detector is 60m².
The coverage and protecting radius of the smoke detector are as follows:
How Many Smoke Detectors Are Required In A Detected Area?
The number of smoke detectors installed in a detected area should not be less than the calculated value of the following formula:
N≥S/(K·A)
In this formula:
N is the number of smoke detectors that should be set in a detected area (N should be an integer)
S is the detected area (m²)
A is the coverage area of a smoke detector (m²)
K is a correction coefficient. The special protection object should take the number between 0.7-0.8, the first-class protection object should take the number between 0.8-0.9, and the second-class protection object should take the number between 0.9-1.
